Artwork Guidelines
Here's a guide for preparing artwork files for Brandly: save as PDFs for format consistency, specify card size with bleeds to prevent printing issues, keep text editable, skip crop marks (printer adds), and use CMYK for accurate print colors.
PDF files
Saving your files as PDFs ensures that the document retains its formatting and looks the same on the printer's end as it does on your computer. PDFs are a widely accepted format for printing.
Card size
Specifying the correct card size, including any necessary bleeds (extra margin for trimming), ensures that your business cards are printed accurately and don't have any unwanted white edges or cropping issues.
Live Text
Keeping text editable (not outlined or converted to shapes) is essential if you want to make any last-minute text changes or updates before printing. It gives you flexibility and ensures that the text quality remains high.
No Crop Marks
Crop marks are typically added by the printer during the production process, so there's no need to include them in your file. Removing crop marks helps prevent any confusion during the printing process.
CMYK colors
Preparing your files in CMYK mode is crucial for achieving the best color accuracy when printing. CMYK represents the four ink colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key/Black) used in the printing process, as opposed to RGB, which is used for digital displays.
